Gardaí in Mayorstone, Limerick are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Meelik, Co Clare on the 30th October 2017.
The collision occurred at approximately 3.40am at Woodcock Hill, Meelik. The car collided with a tree. The male driver(unidentified at this stage) of the car was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene, his body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick. The female(25 years) passenger was injured and taken to University Hospital Limerick injuries described as serious.
The road has been closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.
